Eco-T Ezi-Flo added to turf management, looking good, naturally
In early March, Top Crop turf and grass expert, Mike Kruger suggested contact be made with Hollywoodbets Kings Park stadium.
An initial demo proposal was presented to implement the Andermatt Madumbi Root Health program on outer fields. This culminated in the application of Eco-T® Ezi-Flo being added to the Winter Rye seed that was to be overseeded on the Hollywoodbets Kings Park main field. Approximately 400 kg of Winter Rye seed was planted in 4 directions.
Andermatt Madumbi was delighted to learn that germination occurred 4 days ahead of schedule in comparison to an area planted with untreated seed. The management team were also able to implement the first rotary mow 7 days ahead of the untreated area; with a second rotary mow skipped and cylinder mower used ahead of schedule, an indication of good early root development.
The turf held up well in its first match, less than one month later, when the Sharks played the Lions.
The true test will be to see how well it holds up when the Springboks take on Argentina on 24th of September 2022.
